The Lord's Prayer - Our Needs
• Series: Kingdom Practices
Week 6 Sermon - The Lord's Prayer Tells Us Our Needs In the Lord's Prayer, Jesus actually tells us what we need, and how we should pray for it. It's hard to not grow confused with all the nuance of desires, needs, ambitions, reactions etc. Especially if Jesus tells us to pray about anything and everything! What does the Scripture actually teach about this? How does Jesus want us to approach the subject of supplication, and even intercession in our prayer life? What consumes most of your prayer life? Praying for your personal desires? Praying for provision? Praying for holiness? Praying for relationships? Interceding on behalf of others? If Jesus tells us what we need, and how to pray for these needs, then how should we approach the exhortation to "pray about everything?" Think about what the Lord's prayer implies about intercession. How can you grow in being more proactive to pray for the needs (as Jesus' defines them) of others? How has your prayer life already changed during these first 4 weeks?
